Summer

Summer has been incredibly busy and so much fun.  We've spent a lot of time trying to stay cool in the heat--splash pad, pool, water hose, sno balls, ice cream--anything at all to get some relief!  Davis took swim lessons again from Crawfish Aquatics.  I was amazed at his improvements this summer.  He is completely swimming with head under water for long lengths at a time.  He does a great job of floating on his back when he gets tired and can hold his breath for a really long time.  I'm so proud of the progress he made this summer.  We've continued with karate twice a week over the summer and we also participated in a few camps.  We spent 4 weeks at Christ Covenant with Mrs. Loar.  We were sad to say goodbye, but we've already made plans to visit with her during the school year.  She's so special to us!  We did a week of tennis camp and soccer camp.  Davis enjoyed both, but I think tennis is probably his favorite.  We took a beach trip in July and had a weekend getaway to  New Orleans as well.  It has been a fun summer, but now we are getting ready for our first day of Kindergarten.  Davis is excited to be starting at St. Jude.  The early mornings and long day will be a change, but I know once he gets in a routine, he will be just fine.

No fear!  Loved the waves and boogie boarding.

New Orleans fun

If it is elevated he wants to climb it! :)

Dinner at Grand Isle--love my boy!

Shawn was telling Davis about how his Daddy(Mr. Owen/Grandpa) used to be a
boxer as they watched a boxing match.  Love these two!
